This beautiful scorpion was found under a stone on the lava field close to La Gloria, Veracruz. Under the same stone, some distance from this scorpion, was another scorpion (center thumbnail below).
As far as I know, the scorpion I have at home that recently had babies belongs to the same species as the scorpion in the above photo. However it was collected from a nearby, but different part of Veracruz: the lava field near El Limón Totalco.
