Barbecue on the roof

Friday, April 23, 2004 | 0 comments

Today we wanted to make kebab on the BBQ, but where not able to buy skewers in the local super market. At home, I remembered I found insulated wire on the roof of our house a few days ago. Metal, not copper, and quite strong.

So Esme started to strip the wire and cut it into pieces while I bended the end of each piece to form a nice hand held. She asked me to make one extra so she could toast marshmallows. I checked the barbecue now and then in between the making of the skewers, cutting the meat, and making the kebabs.

The night was very nice, not hot and not too cold. We went up to the roof and put the kebab on the barbecue. While we waited for the meat to get ready, Esme cooked marshmallows.

When the food was almost ready, Esme decided to buy herself a beer, and a double tequila for me. Since the owner of the bar is a good friend of hers, he made it a triple.

We put the garlic sauce I made last Wednesday on the kebab. It was a very nice evening. Only slightly disturbed by a few drunk people down in the street having a fight. After a short while the police showed up and took most people down to the police station.

Also today
