For your convenience I have created 7 empty VMware virtual disk files (IDE) using the freeware program Qemu. The following sizes are available in one small (21 KB) zip file: 2G, 5G, 8G, 10G, 12G, and 20G.

Just unzip the file, and pick the VMware virtual disk file (vmdk) you want to use to install an operating system in for use with the free VMware player. See Create your own Virtual Machines for more information.
