This afternoon I "invented" a game for Alice and me to play. I had tried before to let her put her Lego Duplo bricks back in the big plastic bucket they came in (no. 4085), but that was some time ago, and she didn't got the game back then. Today she had been playing with a plastic drink cup. When I put the cup straight and dropped a Duplo brick in it, I immediately got her attention. And after showing her a few times how the game was played, with the instruction "Alice, put the block in the cup", she picked up a Duplo brick, and dropped it in the plastic cup, a hit the first time.
Alice's favorite Duplo toy is the little guy, also included in the Duplo Brick Bucket 4085. Since the little guy was nearby he also ended up in the cup. Alice also tried to remove the bricks and guy from the cup, and with her small hands that was not hard. She enjoyed our little game a lot.
Later Esme played the game with Alice as well, this time with instructions given in Spanish. I grabbed my digital camera and took several photos, and also made a small movie to show to my mom, later. She lives in the Netherlands, and misses Alice a lot.
In the morning I had also taken a few photos of Esme and Alice bouncing on the bed. Esme held Alice on her lap, and bounced up and down on the mattress. As you can see in the photo below, both Esme and Alice had a lot of fun.
Alice is almost eleven months old, loves to play various games, loves to go out for a walk, and enjoys watching "Baby Einstein" DVDs a lot.
