Today Esme had to babysit, and I decided to come with her. The child is a five year old boy, and at this moment extremely into Star Wars. Around eight we went out and paid a visit to Burger King. Of course we all couldn't resist the Star Wars toys. Esme fell in love with the little Yoda some time ago so her decision was obvious, and I wanted R2D2. The child already had the Millennium Falcon, and wanted C3PO.
While we were waiting for our food, I noticed a child with "Jim" written on his shirt. Since my son is named Jim, and I haven't seen him for over 2 years, I felt a bit emotional. But suddenly the child started to smile, and talked to me in Spanish that I couldn't follow. Esme told me he was talking about R2D2 and Star Wars. Somehow children are quite at ease with me, maybe because I am closer to their world compared to most adults (I mean, I was playing with R2D2 at that time).
When we went back to the child's house his mom was already back, so we left. The child was waving from the door and a loud "Adios John" followed.
