Comments: Abuse of the browser status bar

Sometimes the status bar is used to display help text using for example JavaScript. This is not obvious to the visitor. More annoying is scrolling text. In most browsers the status bar is used to display the full address of a link and that is what a visitor expects.

You can also view the "real" link by pressing CTRL no the keyboard whist holding down the left mouse button in Internet Explorer.

Yep, I like state bar. My Avant browser default to not display state bar,I always enable it manually. I Know whether the web page finished loading or not or if there is javescript error from the state bar. These information which saved me a lot of work is really important for me
