TextPad is a versatile text editor made by Helios Software Solutions. The editor runs on most versions of Microsoft Windows and has a lot of useful features like syntax highlighting, macro recording, tabbed windows, powerful search and replace with regular expressions, find in files, clip libraries, spelling checker, etc. I use TextPad as my main text editor, to create the XML files which contain the information on this site, but also for editing Perl and Java source code. You can download a free copy for evaluation. Registering the editor is well worth the money, and I recommend it.

Thanks for sharing. I had to migrate to Windows just for the sake of the Word. I code large engineering programs in fortran and c. I was delighted to see that textpad has fortran syntax highlighting too. This will be of so much help.
