The 23 of June, 2005, I woke up in the evening, after a catnap, and somehow had those words in my mind. I wrote them down without much changes. This is often how I write my poems, they suddenly appear in my mind, and I only have to write them down.
After writing this one down, I played a bit with the idea, and wrote a second version: Awakening II.
