At this moment I have three tarantula spiders. Two resemble the Costa Rican Tiger-Rump (Cyclosternum fasciatum) but where found in Veracruz, Mexico. It might be very well the case that Costa Rican Tiger-rump tarantulas one can buy in a pet shop are actually originally coming from Mexico.
Read the rest of Pet tarantulas.
i would recommend Brachypelma albopilosum (Honduras Curly Hair) it is a very docile tarantula.. Brachypelma smithi (Mexican Red Knee) a collector's classic favorite......

I currently own three tarantulas that I am quite happy with. The first, a pink toe which I have had for almost 10 years now! The others are a stripe-knee, and a chilean rose hair. All have molted successfully and maintain good health. I store them in the "bathroom" for the humidity from the shower. Can anyone suggest any other species that are good keepers?
