A SEO myth on PageRank busted

The art of Search Engine Optimization is clouded by many rumors, hearsay, and myths. One myth is that PageRank drops with one for every directory in a URL. The concept of a directory in a URL is an odd one, since a / doesn't mean there is a real directory. But anyway, it doesn't matter much how we call it, since this myth is an easy one to bust.
