The Mexican tarantula in the above photo - resting on the underside of the stone it was hiding under - is a juvenile and looks very similar to the Costa Rican tiger rump (Cyclosternum fasciatum). It might be very well the same species, despite the common name which suggests that the range of this species is limited to Costa Rica.
